Anyone considering recording at Summerland Recording should definitely do so. I was immediately impressed with the incredible range of analogue recording gear and vintage instruments, and was also made to feel right at home in the studio’s warm and comfortable atmosphere. Additionally, Glen, Arlo, and Max’s knowledge and expertise shone through the session with regard to musicianship and their integration of technology in the recording process. Like all great engineers I’ve had the good fortune to work with, they facilitated an ideal recording experience while subtly bringing out the best in my playing. I have nothing but great things to say about this crew and space, these guys are the real deal!

I love my time recording at Summerland Studios. Max and Arlo have created an inspiring recording space. This studio has lots of homey personality. Windows to sunshine, great sight lines to the booth and room to record a band live off the floor. The studio has an impressive collection of vintage equipment and best of all, a Schimmel grand piano and a B3 and a state of the art board. Max and Arlo Filazek are accomplished musicians, arrangers and composers with great ears. Two thumbs up!

Summerland Studio is my go-to studio in Toronto for live multi-tracking of all kinds of genres and ensembles. Their selection of vintage drums and cymbals are unmatched in the city. The array of keyboards, guitars, basses, and amps are plenty to get classic tones as well as stimulate the imagination. Not to mention the cozy vibe in the studio full of beautiful antiques, and a big window looking out into nature!

I have had the pleasure of recording more than once at Summerland Studios and every time has been a wonderful experiences. Located in a big, beautiful old house away from the gridlock of the city, Summerland Studios transports you to a place from a different time. The decor and ambience of the studio is retro, while feeling warm and authentic, and the studio houses a plethora of musical instruments, top of the line gear/equipment, multiple rooms to record in, a grande piano, drums and about a hundred guitars. Max and Arlo are supremely talented engineers, as well as being excellent musicians, who are patient and skilled. I always know I’m in good hands when I record with them. Being at Summerland Studios is as close to recording at 'Big Pink' as you’ll ever get.
